Position Summary

The responsibility of an Accounts Receivable Data Entry Clerk is to perform a variety of accounts receivable tasks in the Accounting Department and work collaboratively with team members to meet and exceed service expectations.

This position is not remote and requires a daily commute to our Main Headquarters located in Maitland, FL.

Essential Functions

  • Verify the accuracy of agency remittance reports and policy information.
  • Enter data into computer systems using defined programs.
  • Investigate questionable data and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Compile data and prepare various reports.
  • Develop an understanding of policies and remittance reports.
  • Verify the correct agency is reflected and determine the accuracy of the premium, ensuring the agent is authorized in the state to write the policy.
  • Balance from the batch cover sheet.
  • Receive checks from the agent office, separated by region, agent, and state.
  • Match checks with policies and verify accuracy.
  • Perform manual calculations of premiums.
  • Process checks in OTIS by premium type.
  • Reconcile posted checks to balance.
  • Print deposit reports and batch cover sheets for future processing.
  • Deliver checks for scanning and reconciliation for posting to the G/L.
  • Verify policies by checking state and Westcor codes.
  • Notify team lead or manager of discrepancies or high-liability policies.
  • Perform other support duties as needed.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem resolution, attention to detail, project management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change, take initiative, manage time effectively, and handle stressful situations.

Education, Formal Training, And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-6 years of clerical accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivable.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and generally accepted accounting principles.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary role, involving filing, lifting files, and operating office machinery. The role requires communication skills and visual acuity.
