Job Description

Pay Range: 38-40/hr

On-Site: 4 days per week

Sr. Paralegal, Contracts

SUMMARY STATEMENT

This position is primarily responsible for managing the entire contracts lifecycle and portfolio, reviewing and assigning contract requests to the appropriate team members as they are submitted to SpringCM, managing customer relationships and outreach, corporate policy compliance reporting, and preparation, review and processing of the company’s operational agreements. Must be able to manage on an independent basis the responsibilities set forth below. Position will deal directly with internal clients and external suppliers and take responsibility for projects.

III. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Day-to-day responsibility for managing the entire contracts lifecycle and portfolio; coordinate with Senior Paralegal, Counsel and Senior Counsel to assign Contract Requests to legal resources; assist with contracts/systems trainings; work with internal business clients to secure final, signed contract copies for Legal compliance; work with Counsel to enhance and improve the contracts lifecycle on an ongoing basis; manage the review and approval of legal review waiver requests; assist Contract Specialist with the management of System (ex. SpringCM and DocuSign) access, tracking and notification features for internal clients (and provide back-up support if and as-needed); manage corporate policy compliance reporting regarding policies impacting the Contracts Group; and coordinate regular vendor contracts reviews, support Senior Paralegal with updating and maintaining the Legal Department “Contracts” page on Choice Central or SharePoint site and other internal contracts-related auditing and reporting functions.

Assist Contracts Group with preparation and review of contracts (including Qualified Vendor Agreements, Staffing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, License Agreements, Amendments, Change Orders, etc.); update and maintain approved template agreements; manage Choice’s Contracts Inbox; and conduct basic legal research including corporate entity status verification.

Assist Contracts Group with customer outreach including training sessions, webinars, “how to” sheets, “self-service” templates, etc. to educate internal clients about the Contract Management Process and the Company’s Contracts Review Policies; update and manage Legal Department “Contracts” page on Choice Central site to ensure that all changes and updates to policies, template and other material are reflected in site materials.

Assists legal team with organizational aspects of larger legal projects, including corporate transactions. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  1. SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
  • Prior experience with contracts management and the SpringCM contract management solution is a significant plus
  • 6+ years overall legal experience in a contracts/commercial law setting (law firm, in-house legal department or contracts administration) or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Paralegal Certificate is plus but not required
  • Must have superior organizational skills
  • Sense of Urgency
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal & written communication with fellow departments & customers
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Able to produce standard contracts independently and accurately
  • Excels in deadline-driven, high-volume environments, including the ability to prioritize (and re-prioritize) projects as needed.
