Responsibilities In a Snack Bar, prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, french fries, etc. Accepts food orders from patrons and serves beverages. Spot checks guest checks to ensure that the information recorded is correct. Serves as cashier in the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge. Completes cash report at the end of assigned shift. Follows all safety, security, and good housekeeping rules. Ensures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned. Cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements: Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to the following: 1. Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages. 2. Ability to work without more than normal supervision. 3. Must be able to keep things neat, clean and in order. 4. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques. 5. Possess the ability to interpret verbal and written instructions. 6. Knowledgeable of basic sanitation principles. 7. Possess the ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment. 8. Able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequency walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach. **If providing a resume, the information provided on your resume should be clear and specific. Commuting area is defined as Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, San Benito County California. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
