Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced remote centered environment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Information Officer II with experience working as a member of a communications team and as a spokesperson in media and public events.

Under administrative direction of the Staff Services Manager III, Public Relations Chief, the Information Officer (IO) II, works as the Senior Deputy Press Secretary and is an integral part of the Communications and Press Relations Branch, contributing to the strategic communications direction and leading priority initiatives to serve California consumers. The Senior Deputy Press Secretary coordinates and supervises the work of the Communications and Press Relations Branch (CPRB) IO-Is (Deputy Press Secretaries). The Senior Deputy Press Secretary plans, writes and edits internal and external public relations and marketing materials designed to inform the public of the objectives and advance the goals of California Department of Insurance (CDI). The position provides assistance and expertise to senior leaders in a highly complex, sensitive, and dynamic department.

This position is designated under the Conflict-of-Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict-of-Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
