Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Engineer to support operations across its Rigid Paper and Closures Division. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering – RP North America, this role will be responsible for managing and executing engineering projects that drive operational efficiency, automation, and modernization across multiple plant sites.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and financial analyses for capital and general engineering projects
● Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support equipment modernization
● Lead technical projects involving equipment installation, commissioning, testing (FAT & PAT), and qualification in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors
● Support and troubleshoot automatic and semi-automatic production machinery, including PLCs, HMIs, servo drive systems, and vision systems
● Utilize automation to improve manufacturing reliability, consistency, and cost-effectiveness—experience with robotics, AGVs, and machine automation is highly beneficial
● Prepare capital expenditure submissions and ensure project execution stays within budget using internal purchasing systems
● Assist in equipment and tooling evaluations, engineering reviews, and process improvements
● Travel extensively to support major project deployments (up to 70% depending on project location)
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
● Minimum 5 years of industry experience in manufacturing environments with a strong focus on automation, robotics, and AGV systems
● Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI programming software
● Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and electrical documentation development
● Hands-on experience with servo systems, vision systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electromechanical components
● Strong background in project management and cross-functional team collaboration
