Join to apply for the Senior BSA/AML Advisor role at Mercury . Mercury is building a financial stack for startups. Since our launch in 2019, our customer base has grown to over 200,000 startups and small businesses worldwide. The AML Advisory team seeks a subject matter expert to advise investigations teams, risk managers, product owners, and other stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Enhancing BSA/AML standards and reviewing policies related to Fraud/Transaction Monitoring and KYC. Maintaining expertise in applicable AML laws and regulations, guiding business lines on compliance. Leading assessments to identify gaps and opportunities in Fraud/TMS and KYC processes. Evaluating compliance deficiencies and data risks, and leading remediation efforts. Using systems and data to identify root causes of challenges, recommending improvements. Providing guidance on compliance risks and influencing process improvements. Reviewing training materials for accuracy and completeness. Communicating compliance metrics and risk appetite to business units. Collaborating on the development and enhancement of compliance controls. Assessing audits, regulatory exams, and self-identified issues for compliance impacts. Monitoring external environment for emerging risks and regulatory focus. Supporting escalated items and maintaining information accuracy and quality standards. Qualifications include: At least 5+ years of experience in financial services, AML/Fraud functions, or compliance risk management within fintech or large financial institutions. Previous experience in legal, audit, regulatory roles, or AML/Fraud investigations and controls. Current CAMS and/or CFE certifications. Deep knowledge of risks, products, processes across financial products like BaaS, ACH, wires, checks, payments, credit cards. Familiarity with financial crimes tools and systems. Self-motivated, adaptable to regulated and evolving environments. Strong communication skills, ability to simplify complex requirements. Passion for working with diverse teams across disciplines. Commitment to AML/Fraud compliance and serving entrepreneurs and individuals.
