As a Sr Product Designer, Platforms, you are a member of the CNN Digital Product Design Team, which is responsible for creating industry-leading new experiences consumed by millions of audiences across the globe. The Platforms team creates bespoke storytelling tools for CNN’s world class editorial team. Our content platform, Stellar, is the backbone of the CNN digital experience. StoryHub is a brand-new centralized planning tool to improve broadcast/linear and digital newsroom workflows, helping our news teams focus on delivering award-winning journalism. This is an incredible opportunity to join this initiative at the ground level to design and implement a new vision for newsrooms of the future. You are an experienced designer who enjoys collaborating with product, engineering, research, editorial, analytics, content strategy and other designers to create efficient workflows and intuitive storytelling tools, while building a best-in-class platform. Your Role Accountabilities include creating information architecture diagrams, experience journeys, user flows, wireframes, design mockups and interactive prototypes to effectively conceptualize product features; conducting regular user research sessions with editorial users; performing usability tests and drawing insights to make informed recommendations; creating, contributing and maintaining tokens and components for the design system; championing design principles, design systems and product roadmap, and serving editorial teams’ needs; and playing a role in shaping the future of CNN's publishing platform by collaborating with stakeholders and team members to brainstorm, envision, and validate new features and functionalities. Qualifications & Experience required include 6+ years as a product designer, enterprise, platforms or internal tools experience preferred, mastery of Figma 124.4+ including variables, components, styles, and shared libraries, experience with CSS, HTML, and/or Javascript is a bonus, excellent and proactive verbal and visual communication skills, ability to manage complex design challenges, experience supporting a distributed team and working in a fast-paced environment, outstanding attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and collaborative approach, and a bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
