GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Switch Truck Operator operates a yard truck in the shipping yard to move and position trailers for loading and storage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsible for operating the yard truck to safely move trailers around the Shipping yard.
- Operator will also position trailers for loading and move them to a staging area for pickup.
- Must remain aware of locations and travel directions of Mi-Jacks and other vehicles and pedestrians that may be in proximity so as not to keep everyone safe.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED - Ability to safely operate switch truck.
- Maintain good housekeeping and always follows safety policies and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to work as a team player
- Perform additional duties as requested or required
- Construction experience preferred.
- Precast experience preferred.
- Experience with tractor trailers / switch trucks a plus.
- CDL License preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reach, climb stairs, squat, grasp, and twist for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as 6\" leather work boots, hard hat, work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection.
WORKING CONDITIONS This is an outdoor work environment using a truck: Limited exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
