Responsibility Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees while considering the organization's long-term goals. This person will be a competent talent acquisition expert and will be the primary lead for all onboarding implementation and orientation design for a successful employment experience. This will entail partnering with the hiring management team to identify job openings, select the best talent applicants, and assist with the completion of all mandated federal, state, and local compliance requirements.

In addition, this person will partner with the People and Culture Manager on critical people and culture HR-related functions, including compliance benefits administration and the overall employment employee lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partners with CPCO to understand and execute the agency’s people, culture, and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning, assessing the full scope of hiring needs and open positions.
  • Responsible for talent acquisition from recruitment to onboarding of new/rehired employees. Conduct preliminary interviews with potential candidates to gauge interest, talent skill proficiency, personality, and salary requirements. Using standardized screening techniques, Assess the skills, qualifications, and experience of potential applicants.
  • Use various methods, including social media platforms, networking events to recruit and network for the best culturally fit candidates.
  • Work closely with management on all diversity initiatives involving recruitment to ensure fairness in hiring practices. Provide feedback to management about details regarding the application process.
  • Provide orientation for new hires on ChicagoCAC personnel policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist with creating all job descriptions and ensure that all staff have a current, signed, and accurate job description in their file.
  • Ensure proper onboarding for new hires and that the necessary paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Assist with the Benefits Open Enrollment process.
  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing People & Culture metric reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including issues such as benefits costs, staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting salaries and job market trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist has a high-level range of discretion and independent decision-making.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Talent Acquisition Specialist has no supervisory duties.

Relationships

The Talent Acquisition Specialist works closely with the Chief People & Culture Officer and the People & Culture Manager. This position must work collaboratively with hiring managers across the organization.

Qualifications

The minimum educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree in human resources. At least three years of experience in human resources and at least three years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role. Experience in full-cycle recruitment using trend-driven interview techniques and evaluation methods.

Must possess excellent emotional intelligence and cultural competency skills for a multi-cultural workforce. Professional written and verbal skills, including report writing, time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning benefits and employment law, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize and delegate when appropriate, and presentation and organizational skills.

Must have a passion for working in a progressive work environment and an agile mindset to frequent change. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, social media, CV databases, professional networks, or related software. Proficient in Excel and metrics chart compilation. Proficient with ADP and/or other HRIS software. PHR/SPHR Certification is a plus but not required.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • PTO days are used for all days off, including holidays and sick time so you have maximum flexibility in the use of your PTO. 
  • Timing of vacations may be dependent on client needs, as that’s our first priority. 
  • PTO goes up to 40 days after 5 years. 
  • Additional PTO for FMLA-related reasons up to 20 days. 
  • A remote work policy that provides flexibility in work hours so long as operational needs are met. 
  • Regular expert training on evidence-based therapy modalities, which includes being able to earn Continuing Education Units.

We are committed to fair compensation, aligned with Chicago market rates. Our salary scale reflects our values, business strategy, and financial goals. Based on funding and internal equity, the starting salary for this position may fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.
