Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Theology Teacher to join our teaching faculty. This full-time position requires thoughtful unit planning utilizing the Understanding by Design model, effectively engaging students within a 75-minute class period on an every-other-day rotation schedule. The ideal candidate will teach six periods of coursework, maintain an active presence on CANVAS learning management system, and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress. This role also provides opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities that align with the school’s mission and values. This is a Full-time role for the school year (August through early June)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans using Understanding by Design principles.
• Teach six periods of Theology coursework within the high school curriculum.
• Foster a classroom environment that supports Catholic values and academic success.
• Maintain an active presence on CANVAS, posting assignments, resources, and updates.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in curriculum development and department initiatives.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
• Engage in extracurricular activities that support student learning and faith development.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Practicing Catholic in good standing, committed to supporting the school’s mission.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• At least two years of teaching experience at the high school level or in a related setting.
• Ability to teach various Theology courses within the department based on school needs.
• Strong ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration.
