POSITION: High School Theology Teacher
STARTING DATE: 2025-26 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS: - Possess a strong educational background in Theology, Catholic religious studies, Divinity, and must have a passion for inspiring an appreciation for self and community spirituality and social justice.
- At least 2 years of school-based teaching experience (preferably in Catholic Schools)
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education (with a concentration in Religious Studies) and/or bachelor's degree in Religious Studies or Theology.
- Strong communication (written and oral) and technology skills.
JOB SUMMARY: - Most importantly, the candidate is expected to adhere to all principles and tenets of the Catholic faith, to maintain a lifestyle that is in full accord with Church teachings, and to always promote the best interests of his or her students and the Roman Catholic Church.
- The Theology Teacher is responsible for teaching courses assigned, assumes supervisory responsibilities, contributes to the efficient orderly operation of the school, and upholds the mission and philosophy of the school.
- Instructs students by engaging in a variety of teaching methodologies that address the educational needs of all learners, prepares lesson goals, objectives, and strategies, which are aligned with USCCB Standards and the course syllabus.
- Candidate will demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy and various resources. Is versed in selecting instructional goals, designing coherent instruction, and assessing student learning.
- Candidate provides authentic learning experiences that are applicable to the real world, is flexible and responsive to students' diverse needs, and actively engages students in their learning.
- Candidate should possess a desire to grow and develop professionally and be a reflective and collaborative individual.
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Curriculum Director and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
