A bit about us:

Our client is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of UNDERGROUND HDE DIESEL MECHANIC at its underground zinc operation. This position is based at a Mine site in northern New York State and the candidate would need to be willing to relocate to area to work 5 days on, 2 days off work week.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of mobile underground equipment including; diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, microprocessor controls, electro-mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, rims, tires and wheels;
• Perform PMs including scheduled hour services, changing fluids, filters, inspections and other component checks;
• Perform welding and fabrication duties (frame repairs, brackets, body work, etc.;
• Completes required maintenance reports and logs;

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years heavy duty earth moving equipment maintenance experience.
• 2-3 years of underground mining maintenance experience
• Diesel technician experience.
• Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his/her duties in a safe and efficient manner;
• Willing to relocate to area to work 5 on, 2 off work week;
