Pharmacy Technician (Work From Home)

Pay Rate: $17.38

Important Information for Candidates:

  • Attendance: Attendance is extremely important, especially during the initial 8 weeks of training (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST). Candidates must be available to work a regular shift of Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM CST . Any planned time off should be discussed during the initial review.
  • Training Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST for 4 weeks.
  • Work Environment: This is a Work From Home (WFH) position. Candidates must have a dedicated quiet, separate workspace and wired internet with a minimum of 25mbps download and 5mbps upload speed . Previous WFH experience is preferred.
  • Technology Requirements: Data entry and navigating multiple computer applications while using dual monitors is the primary function of the job (some outbound calls may be required). Candidates must be able to type a minimum of 30 WPM .
  • Certification Requirement: A Pharmacy Technician Certification is required—either national certification or state license (please provide license number and a screenshot for verification).
  • Work Independently: Candidates must be able to work independently in a data entry, productivity-driven role and demonstrate a positive and engaged attitude .

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls from members, providers, and others, offering professional phone assistance through the criteria-based prior authorization process .
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials.
  • Transfer all clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist .
  • Perform data entry tasks , ensuring accuracy while navigating multiple applications.
  • Maintain engagement and high-quality customer service standards .

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician in an administrative support role.
  • National pharmacy technician certification or state registration/certification/licensure as required by state regulations.
  • Advanced computer skills , including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent customer service skills (both written and verbal).
  • High school diploma or GED (verifiable) .
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume call center , preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar field .

Work Schedule:

  • Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM CST (8-hour shifts assigned within this window).
  • Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST for 4 weeks.

This job requires compliance with state licensing regulations—candidates must have the necessary certification or license as required by the state they reside in.
